What Does My CT Scan Report Indicate?

I recently had a CT scan through the chest from the apex through the upper abdomen. In part of the finding, it stated that there are prominent mediastinal nodes (included sizes) and multiple other scattered nodes noted as well. I have no idea what this means or if I should be concerned. Can you shed any light on this? Thank you!

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Enlargement of mediastinal lymph nodes can occur in number of infectious or inflammatory conditions.
Tuberculosis is a common infection which can lead to enlargement of mediastinal lymph nodes.
Sarcoidosis is another condition wherein the mediastinal lymph nodes are enlarged.
However, the presence of mediastinal lymph nodes has to be correlated with your clinical condition.
Thus, I suggest you to consult your referring physician for further work up.

Thanks and take care
