Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello I had pneumonia and my ct showed sub cm hilar lymph nodes. my lung specialist said the lymph nodes were because of the pneumonia and to have a repeat ct in 6 weeks. The repeat ct shows that the pneumonia has cleared but there is still slight consolidation in my lung and the hilar lymph node is 11.4 mm. Would this still be a reative lymph node. No lesions or masses seen in either of the ct s
Hi Pneumonia causes lung consolidation and the consolidation lesions do not disappear immediately the infection is taken care of.Slight consolidation in lungs after is normal and will disappear with time. The lymph node could still be reactive lymph node.Just compare the size on the second CT to the first. If the size is smaller then it is no cause for concern It will disappear in due time.If it is instead bigger compared to the first CT, then your lung expert will have to investigate it. Hope my answer will help clear your doubts Best regards
