Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had CT ivp for my kidneys and they notice haziness in my lungs, now the radiologist is saying it is normal for people when lying down to show haziness in the lungs which means normal fluid. This doesn t seem right to me so I am going to get a second opinion.

Emergency Medicine Specialist, Dr. Tim Evans's Response
There should not be fluid in the lungs in the absence of pathology. However, when you undergo a CT scan you lie on your back and sometimes the gravity dependent part of the chest and lungs can appear "hazy" due to the weight of your body causing a degree of physical compression of the lungs. If you do not have any symptoms and your radiologist says it is normal, then I would be reassured, however, given that you have not provided the formal radiology report, it would be impossible for me to comment any further than this. You would be welcome to obtain a second opinion if you wanted.
