I am suffering from Chronic neck pain, shoulder and back. Below is the CT Scan result of Neck I am seeking your professional opinion regarding my neck pain. I had been working for a company doing a lot of hard manual work in the field for three years. Before this job I was a school teacher for 25 years. Is 3 years enough time for degeneration to occur? CT SCAN RESULT: NECK I had done the CT scan of cervical spine. The findings are as followers: There is straightening of the cervical spine. There is no fracture or destructive bone lesion.at the Atlanta-axial articulation there are degenerative changes with thickening of the cruciate ligaments causing partial effacement of the anterior CSF column C2-3: there no disc herniation or central canal stenosis. There is mild bilateral facet joint degeneration. C3-4: there is circumferential osteophytosis and facet joint degeneration causing moderate foraminal stenosis without nerve root impingement C4-5: there is mild circumferential osteophyte disc bulge complex without central canal or forminal stenosis. C5-6: there is disc flattening with circumferential osteophyte disc bulge complex without central canal or foraminal stenosis. There is mild left facet joint degeneration. C6-7: there is a disc flattening with end plate sclerosis and circumferential osteophyte disc bulge complex causing mild central canal stenosis. There is moderate bilateral uncovertebral osteophytosis and facet joint degeneration worse on the left where there is possible impingement of the exiting C7nerve root. C7-T1 there is no disc herniation, central canal or foraminal stenosis I hope your advice will significantly help me redesign my life for healthy living
I think you have to perform an MRI cervical exam because it is far better than the CT scan for the spine especially for the cervical region. You have a better delineation of medulla, its the best exam for myelopathia/myelomalacia, for disc herniation and for visualisation of the spine vertebral canal in general.
