What Does My CT Scan Report Indicate?

My mother in law is 88 years old and has had a CT Scan - the results are that she has moderately severe chronic small vessel disease and mild generalised cerebral volume loss with ventricular enlargement, no signs of metastases. Does this mean she has vascular dementia??

welcome to hcm
.she is having cerebral atrophy ..it vascular dementia if she has history of uncontrolled BP ..blood sugar and lipid profile ..but if she does not have any such history or any other blood vessel disease then it may be due to age related as sje is 80 years ..now you should keep her bp ...sugar and lipid profile under control ..she should be given low dose aspirin ...statin as atorvastatin ..because such patients are usually susceptible to stroke ..for memory problems if she have she can be given multivitamin antioxidant combination ...or tab mentat 1 tab twice a day ..it is himalaya drug company drug ..i hope i have solved your query ..if you find my response helpful please vote so ...with regards dr xxxxxxxx xxxx
