What does it mean if there is focal infiltration the liver adjacent falciform ligament suspected. Also, minimal pericardial thickening versus effusion is seen. I had a CT scan a couple weeks ago, I m a 20 year old woman and everything else in the CT scan came out fine, it looks like. But, what do those two things mean? I m so worried...
The CT scan shows that there is a condition involving the liver in which there is manifestation of the process in the part of liver next to one of its attachments called the falciform ligament. The complete report is to be read to know what the doctor is writing about. The falciform ligament is one of the structures that attaches the liver to abdomen.
Finding regarding the minimal pericardial thickening is suggesting that there is either a thickening of the covering of the heart else slight water collection in the area. This is not serious since they have specified it as mild collection or thickening. Echocardiography might help to confirm if there is any fluid collected around the heart. Please do not worry.
