Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi sir, My mother she is 64 years old. She has lump behind her ears, doc ask her for CT scan and diagnosed with enlarged discrete cervical, mediastinal & bilateral auxiliary lymphadenopathy. Today she will go for biopsy. So she has some infection or cancer???
Multiple lymph nodes enlargement can be part of infection, chronic inflammatory or auto immune conditions, cancer or else. It is the assembly of symptoms, clinical findings with co relation of reports which makes a possible framework of diagnosis of cause of the lymph node enlargement and then it would be best to cure her. The biopsy report would serve best pathological cause of the lymph node enlargement and let us wait for its results.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
