Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Recent CT shows enlarged liver and distended colon, live has some polyps. Not what I had the CT scan for. For about 3 weeks I have experienced upper abdominal PAIN, gas, bloating . The pain increases like labor pains .I am not pregnant, I am 60 years old and not active sexually. I do not have a gallbladder or appendix . I take Invokana (sp) and wonder if that could be what is causing such discomfort?
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum. I can understand your concern. I have gone through the CT report you have mentioned. This report is suggestive of enlarged liver and dilated colon. These are commonly due to hepatitis and constipation. So get done blood reports for liver (liver function test) Start laxatives, drink plenty of water, take more fiber diet. If not improving after all these then get done lower GI (gastrointestinal) scopy. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
