General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The hyperintense speck in posterior peri ventricular area without edema or mass effect may be caused by multiple reasons as:
- Multiple sclerosis
- Calcification or amyloid deposits
- Artefacts on occasions

However, a co-relation with underlying symptoms and exact evaluation of MRI plates would be of immense value.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
