What Does My MRI Test Report Indicate?

My brother was recently diagnosed with MS. An MRI came back stating the following: His follow up with the MD is in 2 weeks. Wanted to find out what this means...There is prominence of the ventricular, sulcal and cisternal spaces, consistent with stable mild diffuse parenchymal volume loss. Thank you kindly.

Hello,

So such type of report in MS is suggestive of shrinkage of brain and reduction in brain activities like slowing of work function, the decline in memory.

Such type of picture is seen in old age and degenerative diseases of the brain. Please discuss these in detail along with the treatment with your physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
