What Does My X-ray Report Indicate?

I received an xray of my chest and the results said the following which means nothing to me: Lungs are hyperinflated with flattening of the hemidiaphragms. Mild accentuation of the bronchiovascular marking. Predominately upper and mid lungs field. What does all of this mean? Thank you

Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

Your chest x ray suggestive hyperinflation and prominent bronchovascular marking ...

So these finding can be seen in chronic obstructive lung disease or bronchitis subtype. ....

But detail history and clinical correlation necessary ...

Have you smoking habit !??
Here I would suggest you to investigate with pulmonary function test by spirometry for further work up ....

If you are totally asymptomatic than I think no need for worry ..

But if symptoms are there treated accordingly to PFT report ...

Consult pulmonologist for further examination and work up....

Take care ....
