What Does My X-ray Report Indicate?

My son is 16 months old and swallow study showed penetration of liquids. His chest xray continues to be hazy per pulmonologist. Although, the study only showed penetration the pulmonologist said that he is likely aspirating part of the time because of how his chest xray looks. Could the hazy lungs really be due to aspiration? and is it common to not treat with antibiotics?

The details given are not adequate.

It looks like he has undergone barium swallow study which is showing some reflux and aspirations. In this setting, hazy lung field may be due to recurring aspiration pneumonia. If he is not having recurring fever and breathing difficulty, then no need of antibiotics. Stick to measures reducing reflex as per your doctor’s advice. Using thickened feeds and keeping baby prone during day time is some of them.
