I have got my blood sugar tested. Below are the details: Personal: Age:37 Weight: 72 KG Height: 5 Feet, 10 Inch Blood Sugar test: HbA1c: 6.7 Average Blood Glucose (ABG): 146 Fasting Blood Sugar: 121.15 mg/dL PP Blood Sugar: 155.14 mg/dL Please let me know if I am on any risk of being diabetic and what are the preventive measure I should take on. Thanks, Amit Shrivastava
The HbA1C is 6.7%, when HbA1c is used to find out if a person is diabetic, a value greater than 6.5% is diagnostic of diabetes.
This means that to diagnose diabetes, the HbA1c has to be more than 6.5%, at 6.7%, you would be classified as diabetic. Fasting and 2 hour readings may be affected by diet but the HbA1c would not be influenced by this.
A change in diet and increase in physical activity may be needed to help control your blood sugars. At least 150 minutes a week of activity is needed.
I hope this helps
