What Does My Blood Cell Values In The Below CBC Test Report Suggest?
Hello my name is Valerie. I was looking at my patient portal and it states that I have CBC with differential/platelet. WBC:12.0 H HEMOGLOBIN: 10.6 L MCV:66L MCH: 20.1L MCHC: 30.5L RDW: 21.4 H PLATELETS: 477H NEUTROPHILS (ABSOULUTE) 8.5H MY DOCTOR IS ON VACATION WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME BY LOOKING AT THIS?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
According to your CBC test result you have White blood cell count of 12000 which is slightly high. Platelet count of 477000 is also on higher side. Absolute neutrophil count of 8.5 thousand is also higher than normal & is indicative of some recent bacterial infection in you. Your haemoglobin value of 10.6 is low, so you have anemia. MCV(red cell average volume), MCH and MCHC is also low. This is normally indicative of iron deficiency anemia. Higher RDW is also suggestive of presence of size variation within red blood cells. Altogethar your CBC test report is suggestive of iron deficency anemia in you. Elevated WBCs mainly neutrophils are indicative of recent bacterial infection in you. However clinical correlation of these lab findings is a must.
