I am in my 5th month of taking Isoniazid (due to a positive TB skin test). My recent blood work shows an my SGOT as 197 and my SGPT as 237 -- this is way different from these values after 1 month of the drug (SGOT) of 30 and SGPT of 31. Does this mean I have liver damage?
Dear patient you are taking isoniazid which is a hepatotoxic drug. SGOT and SGPT are enzymes released into the blood circulation due to livercell damage. That means u have got liver cell damage due to isoniazid.
