Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can someone translate this for me? There is evidence of malrotation with the cecum present in the left side of the abdomen and small bowel loops present almost exclusively in the right side of the abdomen. The fourth portion of the duodenum is not in its usual position.
It is a congenital abnormality called malrotation where the bowel loops which are normally situated on the right side of the abdomen will be in the left and vice versa.
It can cause severe abdominal pain and obstruction in the bowel. Surgical correction is required in certain cases. Consult a general surgeon and he will direct you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
