Hi,
There are more than one Paget disease and I guess there is a misunderstanding in your situation. Paget disease of the breast is
ductal carcinoma (in situ or invasive) that goes through milk channels and reaches the nipple. It can be seen in other parts of the body not only breast.
The other Paget disease is a bone
metabolism disease that bone cells cycle gets faster and causes fragile, deform bones. In this Paget disease, ALP (
alkaline phosphatase) is very valuable blood indicator.
But ALP is not spesific for Paget disease of breast. In your case mild rising of ALP may indicate
fatty liver, biliary tract problems or other liver diseases. Other studies like ultrasound, serology, additional
blood test may done if there is a clinical suspect. If there is no additional findings a control blood test for ALP would be enough.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
