Hello,
1. As the doctor is out of town and the case is diagnosed.
Consult a rheumatologist for the condition since stopping/changing or decreasing the drug without first consulting with your attending physician may result in the flare-up of the disease.
PS. He/She must be well versed with any simultaneous joint conditions and will prescribe a safer alternative accordingly since raised uric acid could also be due to:
being
overweight, having
high cholesterol or any ongoing inflammatory disease.
Any use of medicines taken for
high blood pressure. Having a sedentary lifestyle and taking food rich in proteins like meat, wine, pulses.
In some patients due to some
kidney problem, there is seen a rise in uric acid, thus please check with your kidney function test (urea &
creatinine).
2. Take old rice, moong-arhar-masoor dal, white gourd, carrot, light exercise, lukewarm water,garlic-ginger mixed buttermilk.
Avoid horse gram, peas, radish, curd,spicy-sour and heavy food, mushroom, turnip, daytime sleeping, excess physical exertion, black gram, sesame, meat, alcohol, excess grief.
PS. although loop diuretics [frusemide] doesn't have a tendency towards
hyperuricemia but may precipitate an attack of gout [Specific Precaution is warranted].
Thus your physician will decide whether it is safe or any other suitable diuretic is essential.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
