does a high rdw-cv and a1c have any relationship. I m a diabetic type 2. My last a1c was 7.7 My recent test showed a high 15.2 rdw-cv and my a1c rose to 9.1. Any relationship? I have a doctors appt tomorrow, but when I looked it up on line just now you came on-line, hence I m asking. Thanks
no your Hba1c level is very high it suggest you have very poor diabetic control, go consult the physician and set the dose of antidiabetic drugs accordingly. and RDW is the red cell distribution with it indicates variation in the size of rbc. it in not high. and it has no relation with your HBA1c. so nothing to worry about rdwcv.
