Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear Doctor, Good Afternoon!!!! I have some questions . Last time when I visited the doctor they suggested to do blood test as per the report my ANA is 400 . It should 100 but mine is 3 times more than the normal. Please let me know how to reduce this and what are the disadvantage of this ?? Does this serious ?? Thanks & Regards, Vijaya
Hi Vijaya, Thanks for posting your query in HCM. Antinuclear antibody (ANA) test is used as a primary test to evaluate a person for systemic autoimmune disorders that affect many tissues and organs. It is most often used as one of the tests to help diagnose systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). A positive ANA test result means that autoantibodies are present and requires further evaluation to make the final diagnosis. You need to consult Rheumatologist or Infectious Disease Specialist for further assessment and management.
Hello dear user! I have gone through your query and understood your concerns! Thank you for sharing them on healthcaremagic. ANA is an analysis required when the doctor thinks you may have an autoimmune disorder. In your case ANA is significantly increased, so it means you have an autoimmune disorder. This happens when your body does not distinguish an organ as itself, but in contrary as a foreign body. You will need to see a rheumatologist to have further examinations and assessment and get the right cure to help you deal with this disorder. I hope this answer was helpful to you! Please kindly rate it as helpful and write a short review about your experience with me! I would appreciate that a lot. Thank you and best regards! DR ERIOL.
