Hello and welcome to HCM, Elevated alkaline phosphatase occurs in obstructive disorders of the biliary tract. However, in such cases it is often accompanied by deranged liver function tests. Isolated elevated of alkaline phosphatase can occur during healing of bone fractures or other bony disorders, kidney disorder, heart disorder, hyperthyroidism, hyperparathyroidism etc. It can also occur after having fatty meal. An elevated amylase level is associated with pancreatitis or inflammation of pancreas. Please consult your physician for clinical assessment and to rule out above mentioned causes of high alkaline phosphatase and amylase.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
