What Does My Cervical MRI Report Indicate?

Can you help with my cervical mri report it states some of the following ; (Previous c spine surgery approx 15 years ago aged 27,c5/6 disectomy with anterior fusion) Loss of normal cervical lordosis Posterior and left posterolateral osteophyte lipping at c5/6 with consequent minimal central and left paracentral impingement of spinal cord and moderate narrowing of left lateral recess and left exit neural foramina. Mild to moderate degenerative narrowing of exiting neural foramina at c7/t1 and c6/7,more prominent on the right, and more in the right lateral recess of c6/7. Also moderate degenerative narrowing is seen in exiting neural foramina bilaterally at c3/4,exiting foramina at c2/3 & c5/6.

Hello

Your report suggests degenerative disc disease of cervical spine with post-operative changes.
Degenerative changes occurs in spine due to aging and development of weakness in annulus fibrosis.

There is loss of normal cervical lordosis(normal curvature).

At C5-6 level, there are osteophytes which is causing minimal central and left para central impingement on spinal cord and moderate narrowing of left lateral recess and left exiting nerve roots.

At C7-T1 and C6-7 level, there is mild to moderate degenerative narrowing of exiting neural foramen(more in right side).

There is also moderate degenerative narrowing in exiting neural foramen bilaterally at C3-4 level and exiting nerve roots at C2-3 & C5-6 level.

There are post -op changes at C5-6 level.

Since you have mild to moderate degenerative changes,it can be initially managed by physiotherapy.

Get well soon.
Take Care
