Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
This is my mom report of a chest x ray it says the following: Accentuated basal bronchovascular markings with small atectatic bands. Clear both lungs fields and costophrenic angles Normal cardiac size and configuration Prominent aortic knuckle Dorsal spondaylosis
= Accentuated bronchovascular markings means increased blood going to the lungs. This might be a normal finding or may be indicative of a bronchitis (inflammation of the bronchi). They have to be correlated clinically. In absence of any other symptoms (e.g cough, fever) there's nothing to worry about.
= The small atelectatic band is likely to be an old resolved infection. However, as mentioned above, it should be correlated clinically.
= Prominent aortic knuckle occurs with age. There's nothing to worry about, specially the heart appears normal in the X-ray (Normal cardiac size and configuration).
= Dorsal spondylosis is osteoarthritic changes of the dorsal spine. These are wear-and-tear changes that occur with age. There's nothing serious to worry about. These changes are expected to be seen in the elderly.
Hope this answered your concerns. Thank you for choosing HCM. Regards.
