I had an upper respitory infection, and two months later I got a bad cold with a lot of congestion. They took a chest X Ray and found mild air trapping and interstitial prominence without focal lobar lung consolidation. I have been told that I have a viral or atypical pneumonia.
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. Your x ray report is good and not suggestive of bacterial pneumonia or tuberculosis. Mild interstitial prominence is seen in 1. Normal person 2. When x ray is taken in expiratory film 3. Viral infection. Since you had viral upper respiratory tract infection ( URTI ), possibility of viral infection is more . This is the reason , radiologist has mentioned about possibility of viral pneumonia. Consult pulmonologist and start appropriate treatment.
