I have fracture my vertebra and i don t understand my scan results can you explain them to me so i can understand what my back is like? Please. My MRI spine Lumbar / sacral . I have multiple fractures at T3 , T12 , L1 , L3 , L5 . And the are old endplate fractures at T7 . There is vertebra plans due to old wedge compression fracture At T9 ,L2 and L4 , can you tell me so i understand what i have done , please thankyou Helen.
I have gone through your MRI report and it depicts that there are multiple vertebral fractures with vertebra plana of the T9, L2 and L4. Usually this occurs as a result of osteoporosis that is depletion of calcium within the bones causing them to become brittle and weak, most commonly associated with advancing age. As osteoporsis leads to weak vertebral bodies because of which even mild to moderate weight bearing or stress can result in compression of the vertebrae, as is evident by your MRI.
I would recommend you consult your local orthopedic physician for detailed clinical evaluation, further diagnostic investigations such as bone density test and further management accordingly.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns. Wishing you good health.
