Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

How long the pain is there? Any swelling, itching or discolouration over there? Any history of trauma? Any other symptoms like fever? The reports mentioned are almost normal, except for a marginal elevation of ESR. Without significant elevation of eosinophils and with a negative antibody test, filariasis is unlikely. Also, filariasis causes significant generalise swelling of leg, usually without pain. The drugs given here are an antibiotic, analgesic, antihistamine and an antacid; there is no antifilarial drug.

If not feeling better in 2 days of starting medicines, kindly get back to your doctor for further evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
