What Does My Lab Test Report Indicate?

sIR MY MOTHER IS 67 YEARS i HAVE DONE HRCTC LUNGS. THE REPORT ARE AS UNDER 1A 23x16MM HYPODENCE NODULE IS SSEN IN THE LDFT LOBE OF THYROID 2 SMALL FIBROTIC LESIONS ARE SEEN IN THE APICAL SEGMENT OF THE RIGHT UPPER LOBE . SMALL CALCIFIC NODULE IS SEEN IN THE POSTERIOR SEGMENT OF THE UPPER LOBE WHAT IS THIS

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

1. The report shows that there is a small 23 x 16 mm nodule in left lobe of thyroid. This is likely a benign finding in the elderly and not likely a serious problem.However an ultrasound scan of neck will help to know if any FNAC or biopsy test is required from the nodule after correlating with thyroid function test.

2. The small fibrotic lesions in apical segment of right upper lobe are prom an old infection. When the infection heals then scar appears like fibrotic changes. The calcific nodule in posterior segment of upper lobe is from old infection probably since years. Nothing needs to be done for these fibrotic changes and calcific nodule.
