What Does My Liver Function Test Report Indicate?

Sir, I have been diagnosed Mild hepatomegaly with Grade 2 fatty chages by USG. My LFT is as mentioned below: Total Bilirubin: 0.73 Conjugated (D.Bilirubin ): 0.21 UnConjugated (I.D.Bilirubin ): 0.52 SGOT (AST): 18.0 SGPT (ALT): 29.0 Alkaline Phosphatase: 78.00 I was an alcohlic. Now I Quit Alcohal since 1 months. I have been advised by the Doctor taking Tablet Udiliv 300 mg twice. Kindly tell am I suffering from any serious disease of liver? Thanks.

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com. I will assist with your question. The liver testing shows that you have fatty changes that are consistent from your history Alcoholic Liver Disease. The best treatment is to stop drinking, even a little as this could at any time push you into fulminant liver failure. Your AST/ALT ratio does show that you have been drinking for a long time.
