What Does My Liver Test Report Indicate?

My live test came back a 307!! I drank the night before but doubt it was only because of that. It probably happened over time and I was also taking lisinopril which has been known to damage the liver I stopped taking it two days before the test. If I had cirrhosis would that number be higher than 307 or am I already at an alarming high?

Hello,

You had been on lisinopril. Presently your liver test report shows elevated levels. It can be due to the side effects of lisinopril like dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes). It can be associated with other symptoms like nausea, vomiting, indigestion, diarrhea, stomach pain, tiredness, etc. You are suggested to talk to your treating doctor so that he can prescribe some other medicine that suits you better.

Quit taking lisinopril. Since your report is not good, you are suggested to stay at rest. Take boiled food for a couple of days. Do not take oily, fried food, junk food, processed or packaged food, avoid taking red meat, refined flour, trans fat, full fat dairy products, etc. You can take well cooked cereals in small amounts, boiled lean meat or steamed small fish, boiled vegetables and fruits, etc. Avoid taking anything raw as it may cause indigestion and nausea. You can take antacids to avoid acidity, take liver tonics like Liv 52 or you can take food good for the liver.

Stay away from addictions if any. Do regular walking but do not exhaust yourself. After strict diet control and lifestyle changes get repeat liver function tests done, your reports will be better. Do continue to be in strict diet control to help your liver recover. Get clinically examined by a GP. Get imaging tests done to rule out hepatomegaly, cirrhosis or any other liver disease.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
