My MRI of my pelvis with and without contrast says that I have abnormal signal and enhancement uterine body and fundus. Neoplastic as well as infiltrative process/adenomyosis in the differential with free fluid in the pelvis. Report also states moderate free fluid fluid in pelvis with pelvic congestion, prominence of pelvic vascularity. Left and Right ovaries have high signal suggestive of follicles present. T1 fat saturation images demonstrate foci of high signal suggestive of area of blood within the uterine fundus. No complex adnexal masses. What does all of this mean? My doctor referred me to a specialist that I can not get into for 6 weeks.
1.The finding seems like adenomyosis. with multiple myometrial cystic changes with increased vascularity. Inflammation / hormonal misbalance . 2.Moderate free fluid with in the pelvic cavity - this condition is seen in infective / inflammatory changes. 3.Bilateral ovaries shows PCOS - polycystic ovarian symptoms. 4.There is no obvious mass lesion or malignancy ( noting said about cancer kind of thing) so there is nothing dangerous. 5.The treatment in this case is hormonal treatment and in extensive stage - hysterectomy depending on the age and reproductive state of the patient. 6. If you have given age and family status it would have been better to help you in better direction. Good luck.
Hope i have answered your query. Any thing to ask do not hesitate. Thank you.
