Just want to understand what does Reactive cellular changes - inflammation mean and also Parabasal/Intermediate/Superficial Cells : 0/+/+++ Thanks a lot BETHESDA SYSTEM adequacy: satisfactory for evaluation Interpretation/ result: negative for intraepithelial lesion or malignancy.Reactive cellular changes - inflammation Parabasal/Intermediate/Superficial Cells : 0/+/+++,FINAL PATHOLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS: NEGATIVE FOR INTRAEPITHELIAL LESION OR MALIGNANCY.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. The PAP smear report you have posted indicates that there are no cellular changes indicative towards malignancy. That means that there is indications of cancerous changes. Reactive cellular changes - inflammation means that the changes observed could be due to the presence of certain infection. Also from the report it suggests that infection could be more of superficial as superficial cells are proportionately more (+++). There is nothing much to worry about. In case you have certain symptoms of uterine or cervical infection, that can be treated promptly and things would be back to normal. Kindly consult Gynecologist with the report in this regard for clinical evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
