What Does My Pelvic Scan Report Result Indicate?
Hi Doc.Had a pelvic scan ,the result goes thus: The uterus is anteverted,bulky and spans to the epigastric region.It measures 139.37mm in AP dimension. The outline is lobulated and irregular.The myometrial echotexture is distorted by multiple,giant sized mixed echoed masses measuring:- 97.80mm x 74.97mm - Posterior, lower uterine segment; intramural 113.15mm x98.48mm - Posterior,mid uterine ; Intramural 74.48mm x 63.60mm - posterior-fundal; Intramural 92.50mm x 82.80mm - anterior,mid uterine. ; Intramural 35.75mm x26.23mm. - anterior,calcified margin; Intramural 105.60mm x99.48mm -anterior,lower uterine segment;left lateral; intramural. Etc....etc... Overall features are in keeping with multiple uterine myoma. The endometrial plate is not seen.However,nil cyesis Both Adnexa are normal The pouch of Douglas is free of fluid collection Nil pelvicalyceal stasis. What does this result mean? And what do I do

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The pelvic scan reveals that your uterus is lobulated and distorted.
The myometrium or the muscle layer of the uterus has multiple variably sized fibroids or leiomyoma.
Due to distortion of the uterus, the endometrial lining is not visible on scan.
Both the ovaries are within normal limits.
Multiple fibroids in uterus can lead to menstrual irregularities like menorrhagia, dysmenorrhea, difficulty in conception etc.
In case you are asymptomatic, nothing needs to be done.
However, if you are symptomatic and your family is complete you may go for surgical removal of the uterus or hysterectomy.
You need to consult your gynecologist for further work up if you are symptomatic and want to go for hysterectomy.

Fibroid is a benign tumour of uterus and its treatment depend upon many things like age,symptoms,family is completed or not.
Fibroid can be managed by conservative means or by surgery.
It need proper evaluation.
You need evaluation by a gynecologist.
