Hi, My son is 1 year 8 months he is having abdominal pain usually at nights in day he is quite normal. Our PED suggests stool test the stool report shows Colour - Yellow Consistancy - Semisolid Mucus - Present(+) Parasites - Absent Reaction (pH)- Alkaline Pus Cells-5-10 RBCs-Nil / hpf Macrophages Absent Epithelial Cells Nil /hpf Fat Globules Absent Trophozoite Nil Cyst -Nil Ova -Ova / cyst not seen.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The interpretation of stool test is as follows: The physical characters- color, consistency and pH are within normal limits. Absence of parasites, fat globules, trophozoites, cysts and ova are normal findings and rule out possibility of any infection. Absence of red blood cells and macrophages is also a normal finding. Presence of 5-10 pus cells suggest infection in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT). However, up to 5 pus cells are considered normal in stool so there is nothing much to worry.
thanks and take care Dr Shailja puri
