What Does My Thyroid Function Test Report Indicate?

For the past couple of months I have been having problem with hair loss. So much so, it comes out a lot when I shower and comb my hair. Like I said this just started a few months ago. I checked all my meds and atenolol and amlodipine can cause hair loss. I had a thyroid blood test and it was normal. I also read that physical and emotional trauma can cause hair loss. I did have a knee replacement last year and schedule to have one in Sept. I do have other physical concerns, and they are being addressed. I am planning to see a dermatologist, but until then I am worried sick.

Hello,

The emotional stress can lead to hair loss problem. So anxiety should be treated with medication and behavioural counselling.

The chronic infection and multivitamin deficiency also can lead such presentation.

So empirically multivitamin supplements can be prescribed.

You need to consult a dermatologist for detailed evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
