What Does My Ultrasound Mean And What Steps Should Be Taken Next?

An ultrasound examination findings report indicates that I have a Bilateral simple renal cysts with the largest cyst on the right measuring 10.7cm.
My questions are:
What is the meaning of this?
What are the consequences?
What needs to be done?
I am reading that a normal kidney size is about 12cm long, 6cm wide and 3cm thick. Is my right kidney practically fully blocked by the 10.7cm cyst?
Is I possible that there is a mistake on the report and it should say 10.7mm rather than 10.7cm?

Hi,
Thanks for writing.

Cysts are seen in the kidneys in elderly patients but a 10.7 cm cyst is unusual and must be reconfirmed with the doctor who has done the scan. Cysts are fluid containing structures and if 10.7 cm in size it needs further imaging by CT scan. If the cyst is 10.7 mm then there is no worry, if it is 10.7 cm then it must be discussed with an urologist.
