Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 27 yr old and have been suffering from ocassional intense pain Once or twice every month. USG reports suggested presence of sludge in gall. CBD measures 5 mm and shows no dialation. LFT is grossly more than std range and bilurubin count is 4.9 Sgot nd sgpt are 650 nd 880 respectively. Pl advice why the LFT has come so high than std values. Is it required to get gall removed? If yes, what is the urgency. The pain is recurring more frequently off lately. I am having drotin ds nd aciloc 300 to control it. Also taking rabeprazole sodium tab evry morning. Is the medication sufficient.
- Gall bladder sludge can result in gall bladder stones and occasional obstruction of the biliary tree - This will cause increased pain and cause your liver enzymes to increase - Elective surgery is advised specially if you are having the pain more frequently; you can do it over a month or two - Medications wise you are fine
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
