What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?

hello doctor my wife is pregnant for 6th week,got ultrasound done today but no foetal nod,FCA seen? doctor advised repeat ultrasound a week later?is it a cause of concern and do ultrasound have any harmful effect on developing foetus? i really appreciate your answer .

Thanks for posting on HCM
A small gestational sac may be visible on ultrasound after 6 weeks of gestation.However, in most cases, fetus may be visible after 7 weeks of gestation.Absent fetal sac at this gestational age may not be a cause for concern given the fact the fetal size at this age is too small(at 6 weeks gestation, the baby is only 5-9mm long).It is a normal finding.Just be calm and do another ultrasound as advised by the Doctor.
