Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have just turned 40 and my husband and I have been trying to conceive for a year now. We have had 2 miscarriages during this time. I just had an ultrasound and here are the results: FSH 11.1 RIGHT OVARY: The right ovary measures 2.3 x 1.6 x 2.2 cm, consistent with a volume of 4 cc. The size and echotexture of the right ovary are normal. LEFT OVARY: The left ovary measures 2.2 x 1.6 x 1.6 cm, consistent with a volume of 3 cc; these measurements incorporate that of an anechoic dominant follicle that measures 0.8 cm in maximum dimension. The size and echotexture of the left ovary are normal. No abnormal adnexal mass is visualized sonographically. There is no free fluid in the cul-de-sac. The volume seems VERY low to me. Do these results indicate that we will not be able to get pregnant and carry a baby to term?

What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?
Hello, No, the results do not indicate that you cannot be parents but you should be carefully followed up by the specialist gynecologist. Do not worry. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Jnikolla, Pulmonologist
