Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
During my C section I felt my heart beat outta my chest! After my C section was done they did a ultrasound on the walls of my heart and said everything looked good! Then every few hours did a ekg and said I had a heart murmur. I ended up needing to wear a heart monitor the whole time I was in the hospital. I ve never had a heart murmur before was that caused by the C section? And would that happen again if I had another C section?
hi...this could be a flow murmur...that means murmurs should not always indicate that there is a problem in the heart...murmurs produced my normal flow of blood through abnormal heart valve or abnormal or high flow of blood through normal heart valves...during C section your blood volume would have increased and that could have caused increase flow and flow murmur..as long as the the echo(heart scan) is Normal you don't have to worry about your heart...it could be a.normal physiological phenomena...Thank you
