I went for an ultrasound about 2 weeks ago to look for a blood clot in my leg. While performing the procedure, the tech pushed down hard on my right lower abdomen as part of the test. When she did that, I experienced a sharp pain. Now, 2 weeks later, I am still experiencing some pain there, off and on. It seems to be worse when I sit. I just had some routine blood tests done (scheduled before this happened) and am waiting for the results.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Probably nothing to worry about. But, you have to check your blood clot analysis because if you have this kind of problems then it is possible that even with a normal pressure like that of ultrasound probe it can give some kind of internal bleeding and that can explain the pain. But, normally it is just some colon meteorism that gives this kind of pain, or perhaps a liver enlargement which is detectable in abdominal ultrasound.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Klodian
