I have a pain in the left side of the front of my neck that hurts in my throat, but only when I swallow, yawn, or sneeze. My doctor ran blood tests for thyroid problems and did an ultrasound of my throat/thyroid and sent me to an ENT specialist who said everything came back ok and he thought it was musculoskeletal. I do have a history of neck problems which have been getting worse. This painful swallowing had decreased but started back about a week ago and has continued. The pain stays at a moderate level and seems to be located in one spot on the left side of my neck/throat. Any thoughts?

What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Check the temporomandibular joint because sometimes arthritis or other disease of the joint can give similar problems. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
