Hello! Good evening. My wife has an amniotic cyst ever since the embryo showed at 4 weeks (it was belived to be a twin). It had 20mmx16mm back then. at 24w the baby has grown normally, but the cyst, which used to be solid, now seems liquid and 46mmx20mm. The baby kept kicking it during the ultrasound. The doctor said it was no problem. Still we are concerned, seeking another opinion. What do you think?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
welcome to hcm ...as you were told by your sonologist it is nothing to worry about amniotic cyst if the no is less than 3 and the fetus growth is normal ...as the baby growth parameters are normal you donot have to worry much .. to be doubly sure you can go for ultrasound at one month later but keep it in mind that untill your child is not showing growth retardation the cyst means nothing just keep the diet of your wife adequate if you have any further queries we are here to help you with regards dr varinder joshi
