What Does My Ultrasound Scan Test Result Indicate?

Hello I just my 13 year old daughter s ultrasound results. She has been in lots of pain in her lower abdomen. She also has her period two to three times a month. Some are light and some can be very heavy. For the past month or so she s been having leg pain and several lower back pain along with the abdomen pain. The result said she has small amount of free fluid in the posterior cul-de-sac???

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
A small amount of fluid in the posterior cul-de-sac is suggestive of a PID(pelvic inflammatory disease). This condition may cause abdominal pain and abnormal vaginal bleeding/discharges and if not treated, it may become chronic.I will suggest she sees the Gynecologist for a PID management and follow up.Drugs like an amoxicillin-clavulanic acid, metronidazole and an anti-inflammatory like profenid may help solve the problem.Just see the Gynecologist.
Hope this will help
Best regards
