Hi,
Urinary tract infection is one of the common infections in children. But I don't understand how you could arrive at the diagnosis of fungal UTI. The urinalysis report appears quite normal. Had she undergone any urinary culture?
Please observe the below-mentioned facts about urinary infection in children :
1) most of them are caused by bacteria,
2) fungal urine infections though uncommon, occur when predisposing factors like prolonged antibiotic use,
urinary catheterization, anatomic anomalies in the urinary tract, prolonged use of steroids,
immunosuppression are present,
3) only urine analysis can never confirm the presence of infection but urine culture is essential,
4) most of the urinary infections present as a fever but the candidial or
fungal urinary infection is mostly afebrile.
Hope you got an idea regarding the condition.so please give a detailed description of your child's symptoms and also please do update any culture reports if done. You can see a
pediatrician for a detailed examination and appropriate management.
I'm sorry that I'm not discussing the treatment here as the above information is certainly necessary to start medication, especially in children.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
