Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good morning Doctor, My wife Test X-RAY PARA NASAL SINUS (W/C VIEW) HAZINESS IS SEEN IN BOTH MAXILLARY SINUS MORE ON LEFT SIDE. FINDING S/0 SINUSITIS. no FRACTURE SEEN Nasal septum is mid- line Antrals walls are intact Please suggest which doctor to consult.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The X-ray views the para-nasal sinuses and shows that the maxillary para-nasal sinuses are hazy. Normally all sinuses should be clear. Haziness is suggestive of infection/ inflammation. There are different sets of para-nasal sinuses. Maxillary sinuses are present beneath the cheeks. Infection/ inflammation of maxillary sinuses causes pain on deep palpation of cheeks. maxillary sinuses open into the nasal cavity so infection/ inflammation of these sinuses lead to nasal discharge. You need to consult an ENT specialist for clinical assessment, investigations and treatment.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
