What Does Neck Pain And Toothache On The Right Side Indicate?
My doctor believes I have TMJ (right side). I just ate lunch and now my lower teeth on the right side are very painful. The artery in my neck on the right side is also throbbing. It is very noticeable as I look in the mirror at myself. What do you think this is?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your query, you have symptoms of neck pain and toothache on the right side which is due to TMJ dislocation, lock jaw and could be due to badly carious tooth on that side.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit dentist once and get IOPA (x-ray) done and bite plane done. You should start treatment after thorough examination.
Till then, you should do warm saline rinses several times a day. Take soft and light food. Avoid opening mouth wide. Take ibuprofen and acetaminophen for pain and swelling. Do facial musclesphysical therapy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
