What Does Neck Pain On The Right Side Indicate?

On the right side of my neck there is mild pain when I touch or press. I also have some pain in my lower, right jaw like a tooth ache (I was just at the dentist last week, no issue, they did a 360 xray). This has been going on for two days now, I believe after I went to the indoor golf range on Sunday (may have nothing to do with it).

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If there is no tooth issue present, then the pain cannot not be from tooth infection.

As you have pain after touching or pressing, it could be from muscle strain.
Ibuprofen for five days can be prescribed for the same. Lymph nodes palpation, posterior pharynx examination should also be done to do further work up.

According to cause, specific treatment should be given.
Consult otorhinolaryngologist for examination and further work up should be planned accordingly.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
