I had a mammogram last Thursday and the office called yesterday requesting I come today for an ultrasound of my left breast due to noted nodular density . I just completed the ultrasound and another mammogram of my left breast and I am a nervous wreck...... It may be Friday or early next week before I receive the results.....can you explain nodular density and the risks of this being cancer???
Hello dear I understand your concern Nodular density means more denses tissue in your breast. It could be due to Aging process: fat tissue replaced by fibrous tissue Firbocystic disease, fibroadenoma, Breast cancer. So it is not always cancer. I would suggest to consult the surgeon for better diagnosis. USG scan should be done to detect cyst/lump in breast. If lump will detect then better to go for USG guided FNAC to differentiated fibroadenoma and cancer. Meanwhile avoid stress, take healthy diet, do regular exercise. Hope this may help you
