What Does Normal Count With Hypo Motility Mean In The Following Report?
Hi , Doctor please find my semen analysis and please let me I m I make a women pregnant with below mentioned semen report. Quantity = 1.0ml Colour = pearly white Reaction = Alkaline Liquefaction time = 30 minutes Total sperm countil 20 millions Actively mobile = 30% Sluggish motile = 20% Non motile = 50 % Morphology; Normal Forms : 50% ABNORMAL forms : 50% Pus cells : 10 to 12/had Epithelial cells 1 to 2 had RBcs =Nil Impression = Normal count with hypo motility
As more than 50 % actively motile sperms are mandatory for pregnancy, your chances of making a woman mom is less likely, though not impossible. I would suspect micro tubules problem which is responsible for motility of the sperm particularly. A testicular biopsy with detailed karyotype analysis to evaluate for possible genetic cause are best clues to discuss with your doc. In last resort, there is always option of sperm retrieval with test tube baby via IUI in infertility clinic with 30 % motile sperms as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
