What Does Numbness In The Left Arm Indicate?

Hi, for the past couple of days my left arm goes numb and when i put it in different positions. It starts in the shoulder and goes all the way to my fingers. the only way to make it stop is to raise my arm up high or turn my neck to the left and down. It is happening all day long. Is this a pinched nerve? I also have pain in my neck at night.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, it could be brachial plexus compression. Kindly get one X-ray chest PA view done to see if you have cervical vertebrae or some pathology which is causing the compression. Usually, MRI would be better for soft tissue. So kindly get the necessary investigation done to rule out any pathology. If both are normal then there may be some nerve irritation which needs vitamin B12 tablets for the healing process. Take Neurobione Forte for a month once daily after meal.
Hope this information helps you sort out your problems. If you feel it is helpful kindly give me user thanks vote.
Happy health!

Regards,
Dr. Archana
